Belfast Area Domestic Partnership (BDVP) together with Belfast and Lisburn Women’s Aid (BLWA) welcomed a study visit of 7 women judges and prosecutors from Kosovo. The visit were sponsored by the Department of Justice, United States of America Embassy for Pristina.
The group were interested in learning from BDVP and BLWA about Domestic Violence best practice. They were particularly interested in access to justice for Domestic Violence victims including how to effectively handle such cases through the justice system.
To facilitate this study visit, BDVP invited partnership members such as Belfast and Lisburn Women’s Aid , PSNI, Solicitors, Children’s Services from Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and Victim Support NI to provide presentations and a discussion session.
The visit went well as demonstrated by the many questions and discussion between the visitors and BDVP members.
